Portishead to Ludlow - 80 miles
A bit of a soggy start today resulting in a wet and windy crossing of the old Severn Bridge but when we were over the sun came out once more. Fantastic cycling along the Wye Valley and up to Ludlow. Best scenery yet and not too hilly. Spirits remain high. The route was relatively straightforward today so there were less route finding shenanigans and fewer tours of supermarket car parks. A day of gifts - Chocolate brownies from our suprise visitors, Burfy, Jo and little Bump; £20 sponsorship from a random pair of Australian cyclists and heavenly Epsom salts from Katie in which to bathe our aching bodies (sadly we think some parts of Mandy's anatomy are past the point of no return). A very pleasant meal tonight as we bid a fond farewell to the Lettingtons with grateful thanks to them for all their support in the last three days. Our support crew (Margaret, Jenny and the dogs) continue to excel.

Perhaps you have changed the planned route a bit. M & A
Fab.....shame about the soggy start! I think it's always better if you start out dry and it rains on the way.... Always felt that way playing hockey; it was a real effort to get going in the rain. Anyway your safely in the northwest today. We can't wait to see you later.
Bring on the cake!! Hope it's actually nice after this build up!

Glad to hear you are all still going strong although I know what you mean about some bits wearing out!! It sounds like you have things to look forward to - like cakes!!! What's all that about? Keep going and we'll keep our eye on your progress. We did a 22 miler today to a music festival and back - a bit mild for you lot!! Luv Denise and Geoff xx
