Day 2

Lostwithiel to Exeter 71 miles, 5751ft elevation
A cracking day! Scenery to die for, scorching sun and almost no tantrums at all from the team.
The route was, once again, idyllic - quiet country lanes, open moorland and chocolate-box villages. No one parted company with their bikes today, although we did disgrace ourselves by trying to cycle the wrong way up a dual carriageway and managed to follow the bike sat-nav blindly up the drive of Lord Jollynicechap's estate. He was dreadfully nice about the misunderstanding. On the plus side we did come across Willy's ice cream factory, hidden in the depths of the Devonshire countryside. Delicious! A hard day but very rewarding. The hills just went on and on. We were met by a welcoming committee at Exeter - many thanks to Lorna, Freya and Ella and to Mark, Karen, George and Harry for cheering us over the finishing line.
